Essendon will get its first taste of the new Perth Stadium in round two when it travels west to take on Fremantle.
The new venue will have a capacity of 60,000 people – making it the third largest stadium in the country.
The match will be played on a Saturday night and will be the first nationally broadcast AFL game on free to air TV from Perth Stadium.
This will be the 11th time in the last 14 clashes the Dons have taken on the Dockers in Perth.
The Bombers will open the season with a home game on Friday March 23 against Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.
The full 2018 fixture is set to be released by the AFL on Tuesday October 31.
