Kobe Mutch

Mutch has had a strong presence throughout the midfield. In round one he collected 28 disposals, laid four tackles, took eight marks and ran forward to score a goal.

In round two against Collingwood he dominated, finishing with 27 disposals, six tackles and nine marks.

In only his first year at Essendon he is already proving to be a handy addition to the list.

David Myers

Myers has missed majority of the last two seasons with injury.

In his returning game against Collingwood, he made a huge impact finishing with 35 disposals, eight marks, seven tackles and one goal.  

Myers’ contested ball winning ability and long left boot would be a welcome inclusion for the Bombers.

Ben Howlett

Howlett started the AFL season strongly, picking up 15 possessions in the round two clash against Brisbane, his first game for the club since the end of 2015.

Howlett was then ruled out of the following match against Carlton with a hamstring strain.

He returned at VFL level last week against Collingwood and was a standout, finishing with 25 disposals and seven tackles.

With Howlett fit and healthy, he is a strong contender to be named in this week’s senior side for the clash against Melbourne. 

Matt Dea

Dea has had a strong start to the season averaging 22 disposals.

At 186cm Dea is strong on the ground and in the air.  He finished with 11 marks in round one and eight marks in round two.

Throughout 2016, Dea was essential to the Bombers defensive line. He played 21 games for the club and was awarded the Most Courageous Player award.

From the VFL list 

First year player James Peters was picked up from the Calder Cannons at the end of last season. He was selected as the 23^rd player for Essendon VFL in rounds one and two this season.

Peters has proved dominant in front of goals, kicking three goals in both round one and round two.
