Six years after establishing an Essendon-supported Auskick program in Craigieburn, the Hume Bombers fielded two all-Indian junior teams in the Essendon District Football League this year.
Essendon’s commitment to multiculturalism and developing the game in the north-west metropolitan region has seen the Auskick participation rates at the Craigieburn Indian community climb year on year since recording 30 participants in its flagship year of 2012.
The Hume Bombers had the experience of a lifetime when Dyson Heppell, Zach Merrett and Ben McNiece joined them for a special training session ahead of our #EmbracingIndia game on Friday night.
