Bombers Esports has hosted a number of esports’ key players at The Hangar in a sign of growing support for Essendon’s investment in the side.

Riot Games’ Managing Director of Emerging Markets Hasan Colakoglu attended alongside important members of Riot Oceania, highlighting the interest the wider esports community is taking in the venture.

Hasan was a key player in the success of the thriving Riot Turkey Team before moving to Los Angeles to oversee emerging markets.

He noted the positive effect that investment from professional sporting teams like Essendon is having on esports broadly, and League of Legends specifically, particularly in bringing what has traditionally been a niche sport into the mainstream.

Hasan also drove home the importance of learnings from other emerging and established markets in ensuring best practice and giving each region the greatest opportunity to succeed on the world stage.

The esports Bombers are currently taking part in the second split of the Oceanic Pro League.
