Essendon midfielder David Zaharakis will undergo scans for a suspected broken collarbone sustained in the Bombers' Dreamtime at the 'G loss to Richmond.
Zaharakis took no further part in the match after a crunching tackle from Tigers ruckman Toby Nankervis in the first term on Saturday night.
Bombers coach John Worsfold said he held some hope it wasn't broken.
"I haven't spoken to the medical staff but he’ll have a scan. I think they're hopeful that it’s not (broken)," Worsfold said post-game.
"It's disappointing because he has been having a very good year for us."
Zaharakis instantly felt for his left shoulder and was taken down to the rooms for assessment. The shoulder in question was already heavily strapped leading into the match.
He emerged a short term later in club tracksuit and moved to the back row of the interchange bench.
Meanwhile, speedster Orazio Fantasia limped off the ground in the latter stages of the first term with what appeared to be an ankle injury.
Fantasia re-joined his teammates at the quarter-time huddle and started the second term on the ground.
Big man James Stewart had his calf monitored by the club's medical staff but finished the game on the ground.
The Bombers will enjoy an eight-day break ahead of the trip to play Brisbane next Sunday.
