Essendon Football Club has launched a new Facebook Messenger bot to assist fans and provide members with instant responses to various inquiries.
BomberBot can assist Essendon fans with ticket purchases, membership inquiries, provide updates on club news direct to users via Messenger notifications and also has some fun facts about the team and its history.
Essendon continues to strive in the social media landscape, with the season-long Facebook Messenger bot the first to be deployed by an AFL club.
“We are always looking for new ways to engage members and supporters on whatever platform they use in their daily consumption habits,” Chief Marketing Officer Justin Rodski said.
“With the largest Facebook following in the AFL and an ever-changing Facebook algorithm, the club must look for new ways to ensure club content is accessible to fans.
“BomberBot is designed to be a guided experience that will continue to adapt and enhance over the season based on what users are finding of most benefit in their time engaging with it.”
