That’s right, three in a row! The fourth edition of the Country Game completes a trifecta of blockbusters in the first half of the season, with the Bombers looking to make it three wins on the trot over Geelong in the annual match.
This year’s Country Game was the start of Essendon’s impressive resurgence. Prior to the match, the Bombers were stranded on two wins from eight games, but a blistering start saw them comfortably account for the Cats to kick off their journey back up the ladder.
There will be plenty of reasons for fans not to miss out on the action both on and off the field, with the Powercor Country Festival taking place yet again outside the MCG.
