The Clash For Cancer AFL match between Essendon and Melbourne is on again! The big match - to be held at the MCG on Saturday 2nd August - will mark the culmination of the Call to Arms campaign while raising funds to fight cancer.
At the game, supporters will be asked to wear yellow armbands and make donations in order to raise vital funds. Essendon players will also don a special guernsey in a show of honour and respect for all men facing cancer.
Essendon needs passionate supporters to help out as volunteers.
Clash For Cancer volunteers will distribute yellow armbands and take donations before the game and at half time. Every volunteer will receive free entry to the game, and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to catch all the action on the ground.
For more information, or to register as a Clash for Cancer volunteer, e-mail Tony.Goring@cancervic.org.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
An unfortunate combination of injury and suspension has hit Essendon this week, team manager, David Calthorpe, said today. Fifteen of Essendon’s 41 senior listed players are unavailable (the 41st player, Jarrod Atkinson, is a long-term injury rookie elevation for Alwyn Davey).
