Essendon pair Conor McKenna and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti have been sanctioned for incidents that occurred during the Bombers’ stirring six-point defeat of GWS on Thursday.

McKenna has been charged with striking Giant Jeremy Finlayson in the second quarter of the match at Marvel Stadium, with the incident assessed as intentional, low impact and body contact.

He can accept a $2000 fine with an early plea as a first offence.

McDonald-Tipungwuti can also accept a $2000 fine with an early plea after a first offence of rough conduct against Jacob Hopper.

The incident in the third quarter was assessed as careless, low impact and high contact.
