Bombers esports will contest the 2019 OPL Split 1 Grand Final against Order on Saturday after a highly successful first half of the year, dropping only two games on their way to a top-of-the-table finish.
The season kicked off in great fashion with two major wins against Order and perceived title contender Mammoth. Week two also saw a win against Legacy Esports/Adelaide Football Club and the Bombers tasted their first defeat against the Chiefs.
With the Bombers fired up from their loss, the Bombers went on an unprecedented winning streak, including a comfortable victory over the Chiefs in round five.
The team would finally have its second and final loss of the season in round eight against the Chiefs, showing that while they were very much the best team, the threat of defeat was omnipresent.
The Bombers finished Split 1 without another loss, including a dominant display in the super week to clinch top spot on the standings, the No.1 seed and a clear passage through to the Grand Final, with an extra week to prepare and watch our prospective opponents.

The team used the week off to organise a fan meet-and-greet at GGEZ Gaming Bar. Fans were able to meet the Bombers players, get a photo taken, have merchandise signed and take part in a few major giveaways - all critical to building a strong fan base for the team and fostering the Essendon Football Club's community and fan engagement programs.
The Grand Final will take place this Saturday in Sydney, with coverage starting from 4pm.
A best of five series awaits the team against Order - a team that has “run the gauntlet” causing arguably three upsets along the way. While their opponents have built up momentum across their games over the weekend, the Bombers are confident their preparation and ability will see them lift the trophy on Saturday night.
