Essendon Football Club was proud to present over $150,000 to eleven local affiliate sporting groups in the Essendon region last week.

The genenous donation was made possible from the trading results of the Windy Hill Venue year ending October 31, 2014. This money will be used by the various clubs to support their operations including supporting a number of capital improvements or asset acquisitions.

Essendon Chief Financial Officer Kevin Dixon said the club was proud to be in a position to support a variety of sporting clubs at a grassroots level.

“Essendon Football Club is proud of its contribution in the community and are pleased the support grassroots sporting clubs and the role they play in the development of young athletes,” Dixon said.

“The Windy Hill Venue does a terrific job in supporting the local community and this generous donation is another wonderful example of this work.”

The presentation of the donation was made last Tuesday night at a cocktail party held at the Essendon Hockey Club.
