Sunday's Round 22 clash against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium will set the scene for one of the James Hird Academy’s premier events on the calendar, the annual 'Guard of Honour' game.
Now in its fifth year, the Guard of Honour game is a chance for former Essendon greats to come together to reminisce about past glory, while their children - perhaps the next fleet of Baby Bombers- take to the field to form a Guard of Honour to cheer on the senior team as they run through the banner.
Fans will also be able to hear from one of our future stars on the ground, and we encourage everyone to get down to the game early and show your support for the kids.
The JHA works closely with a number of father-son prospects, with the aim of helping them develop the crucial skills that will help them become the stars of the future.
Joe Daniher, Jake Long and Tom Wallis all made their way up through the academy before being listed by the football club.
