Essendon wishes to thank Hayden Skipworth for his 11 years of service at the club, with the assistant coach accepting a position at Collingwood.

Skipworth’s time at Essendon dates back to 2009, where he played 11 games for the club before transitioning into a development coaching role. He then moved into the senior coaching position of the Bombers’ VFL side where he took the team to three consecutive finals series.

In 2017, Skipworth began coaching the forward line of Essendon’s senior team and most recently steered the midfield group.

General manager of football Dan Richardson thanked Skipworth for his long-standing commitment to the club.

“On behalf of the football club, I want to thank Hayden for his significant contribution to Essendon during his 11 years as both a player and coach,” Richardson said.

“Although it is sad to see Hayden leave, it is a great opportunity for him at Collingwood in a more senior role.

 “We wish Hayden, his wife Sarah and their daughter Madeline all the best for the future.”
