Essendon star Joe Daniher will be available to play in Thursday’s JLT Community Series opener against Carlton, with the club confirming the news on Monday.
The powerful forward has been on the sidelines since the Bombers’ clash with Hawthorn in early May due to osteitis pubis, but significant progress on the track in recent weeks will see him take on the Blues at Ikon Park.
Club physical performance manager Justin Crow confirmed the 24-year-old will make his long-awaited return on limited game time this week.
“Joe’s had a good progression of match play here over the last month,” Crow said on the SKINS Injury Update on Monday.
“We’re really comfortable with how he’s progressing, he’s showing no signs of not doing well with his program that we’ve set out, so he’ll be available to play some of the game in JLT (game) one.”
