Essendon assistant coach Ashley Prescott says the Bombers need to focus on being more consistent after their 43 point victory against Hawthorn on the weekend.

“There’s still a resolve to make sure that we repeat (the win), and we continue with the intensity we showed,” Prescott said on the popular Bomber.tv show Weekend Rewind.

“It comes back to each individual approaching the game, and approaching their week, with a real burning in their guts to make sure they come out and they contribute.”

Prescott said he was impressed by the improvement in emerging forward Scott Gumbleton and the return of Brent Prismall to the senior side.

Also featuring on the show is Courtenay Dempsey, who praised the ability of the team to perform together.
“It was a good team effort and that’s what we need,” Dempsey said.

""We can’t really rely on (a group of) players, we have to rely on the whole team to do their job.""

Dempsey spoke of the team’s confidence ahead of the Round 7 clash with Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium this Saturday.

“It shows that if we do stick to our structures then we can win any game, and beat any team,” he said.

""Tonight (Saturday) really showed our maturity, we stuck to our structures and got away with the win.""
