This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Anzac Day clash. To honour the service men and women who have fought for their country, the Essendon Football Club will wear a specially designed Anzac Day guernsey. The Bombers’ iconic red sash will consist of red poppies, the commemorative flower of remembrance, used on both Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.

Collingwood v Essendon for Anzac Day is SOLD OUT. 

Members will not be able to access the game unless they have redeemed a ticket through Ticketek 

Tickets for this game are exhausted.  

 

Please plan ahead and ensure that you arrive with enough time for the entry process. We recommend that you arrive as early as possible as enhanced security measures will be in place at the MCG, which could slightly increase wait times.  

We ask that you are mindful of what is in your bag. Please ensure that bags are small and all items meet the conditions of entry (refer here for further information https://www.mcg.org.au/the-stadium/visitor-information/conditions-of-entry)

If you’re already inside the ground, you can grab your merchandise internally on level one at gates five and seven, on level two at gate six and level three at gate six. The Anzac Day guernsey stands as a tribute to the players who never returned from war, forever a part of Essendon’s history and spirit. 

You have the chance to own a piece of history, the match-worn and personally signed Anzac Day guernsey’s will be available for auction following the game. They will be presented in a bespoke military style case, featuring a specially commissioned Anzac insert.  

100% of profits will go towards the RSL ANZAC Appeal.

GETTING THERE 

There will only be limited disabled parking options at the ‘G on Friday, so we recommend looking at alternative transportation methods. No general public parking at the MCG will be available. The stadium is only a short walk from both Jolimont and Richmond Stations.   

For those who do have parking access, the following gates will be open; Gate 3 and 5 from 10:30am, and Gate 7 from 6:00am.  

 

POTENTIAL DISRUPTIONS 

  • From 9pm Friday 25 April to last service Sunday 27 April, buses replace trains on the Alamein, Belgrave and Lilydale lines between Blackburn and Belgrave or Lilydale.
