Essendon Football Club is set to debut a new clash guernsey for the 2025 AFL Premiership Season, featuring a straight black sash on inverse red design.

This marks the first time in the club's history that a clash guernsey will feature a black sash instead of the iconic red sash.

The traditional red sash on black remains Essendon’s preferred guernsey, but with a need for a clash uniform, the Bombers worked closely with members to design and select this new clash uniform.

Members were given the opportunity to vote this year on one of three designs, with the winning inverse clash guernsey receiving 59% of the votes.

The new guernsey will be worn during select away games in the 2025 AFL season where clashes with opposition uniforms occur.
