A busy fortnight awaits on the AFLW landscape, with Essendon getting set for the free agency and trade periods as well as the 2024 Telstra AFLW National Draft.

Free agency began on Wednesday, while the trade period kicked off from 12pm on Thursday afternoon.

So far, the Bombers have acquired ruck Courtney Murphy from GWS via trade, in exchange for pick No.65 in this year’s draft.

The Bombers currently hold pick No.11 as their first-round selection for the upcoming Telstra AFLW National Draft.

As it stands following Murphy's trade on Thursday, the Dons will have a total of seven picks at their disposal, including picks No. 29, 47, 83, 101, 119 and 137.

This year’s edition of the Telstra AFLW National Draft kicks off on Monday, December 16.
