Tom Bellchamers willplay his first game of the 2009 seasonthis weekend against Hawthorn at Etihad Stadium.

Speaking on Best 22, assistant coach, Gary O’Donnell, said that Bellchambers will provide vital relief in the ruck to Patrick Ryder.

“We are looking forBellchambers to really contest this week, just go up against the big Hawthorn guys and contest against those guys who have a lot more bulk,” O’Donnell said.

Tayte Pears and Cale Hooker look likely to remain in defence and could be given the task of limiting Franklin and Roughhead followingthe huge task of taming the big Lions at the Gabba.

“Pears did a very good job on Bradshaw, and young Hooker went back after being in the ruck. Those two blokes are a good chance to take on those massive Hawthorn forwards,"" O'Donnell said.

“It’s a huge task for Hooker, playing the fourth senior game of his career, but he’s tall and quite agile, and he’ll just have to play close to stop these guys from using their fitness and jumping at the ball.""
