Bombers Kodi Jacques and Amber Clarke will spend time on the sidelines.
Jacques could miss up to six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury, while Clarke sustained an MCL in Sunday’s game against Gold Coast.
Head of Medical Services Megan Smith said Jacques sustained the injury during training last week, with scans later showing a hamstring strain.
“Unfortunately, Kodi is likely to be unavailable for the next six weeks after she strained her hamstring during training last Thursday,” Smith said.
“We’ve all wrapped our arms around Kodi and will be fully behind her as she commences rehab.”
Forward Clarke suffered a knee injury in a tackle during the final quarter of the Bombers’ victory over Gold Coast on Sunday, with the 19-year-old not returning to play.
Smith said further scans revealed Clarke had suffered a low-grade MCL injury and would commence a two-to-three-week rehab program.
“Amber’s knee was caught in a tackle in our game against the Suns, and scans have shown that she suffered an MCL injury,” Smith said.
“We are disappointed for Amber, but she is diligent and fully committed to her rehab. We will work towards two to three weeks for her to be available for selection.”
Defender Brooke Brown is on track for her first game of the year, with the defender progressing well in her recovery from a calf injury.
