Bombers forward Emily Gough will likely be sidelined for the next month after suffering a calf injury in last week’s game against West Coast.

The 18-year-old felt calf tightness following Saturday’s game, with scans later revealing the extent of Gough’s injury.

Head of Medical Services Megan Smith said the injury was disappointing for Gough.

“Emily has come into the side this year and immediately made an impact, so it’s unfortunate for her to be sidelined,” Smith said.

“She felt discomfort on the way home from Perth following our game against West Coast, and unfortunately, scans revealed a low-level strain which means she’ll likely miss the next four weeks.

“Credit to her maturity, Emily is determined to work hard and come back to make the most of her first season at AFLW level.”

The Bombers will face St Kilda this weekend at Windy Hill from 3:05pm
