Matt Guelfi will be a test for Essendon’s final round clash with Brisbane on Saturday night.

Eyeing off a first game back since suffering a hamstring injury in round 19, Guelfi will train fully this week and be available for selection provided he gets through without issue.

Defender Jordan Ridley hasn’t fully recovered from a hip injury, while Nik Cox has also been ruled out for the away clash following his concussion suffered in round 22.

Cox was still experiencing lingering concussion symptoms late last week and as per the league’s protocols will be unavailable for selection this week.

Todd Goldstein was taken off at half-time in Essendon’s VFL clash with Coburg on Sunday after landing on his hip in a contest, but has pulled up well from the knock and will be available for selection this week.
