Once a Don, always a Don.
The pre-game of Essendon's round 15 clash with West Coast held nostalgic scenes for Bomber fans as a group of past players including Matthew Lloyd, Andrew Welsh, Gary Moorcroft and Chris Heffernan formed the Guard of Honour.
Essendon also hosted an EFC Past Players Function in Marvel Stadium's Victory Room, where Welsh spoke alongside Kevin Sheedy about memorable moments from his playing career and the importance of keeping former Dons involved in the club.
Lloyd rang the famous air raid siren prior to the team run-out, before the group converged with a half-time function and Q-and-A that included current player Archie Roberts.
The event was a big success for the Bombers as they continue to incorporate and celebrate those who've played their part in writing chapters of the club's history.
