Essendon's VWFL and CWFL sides suffered defeats to Collingwood in Sunday's round seven clash.

Opening proceedings, the CWFL matchup was a low-scoring affair for the Bombers, who only found the sticks via James Gilders, who's been an improved player over the course of the campaign.

Despite the best efforts of skipper Ben Milton when playing out of position, the Dons' community side suffered a 45-point defeat.

The VWFL squad were outgunned by a Collingwood side in good touch, falling by 73 points.

Caleb Logan scored seven goals to hold onto second place in the competition for leading goalscorers, taking his season tally to 50.

With a few late outs to illness and recent troubles fielding their full-powered side, the Bombers will need to regain their form heading into the latter stages of the season.
