Essendon's VWFL side fell to St Kilda by 65 points on Sunday afternoon.

The Saints' firepower up forward proved too much for the Dons, despite five goals from star Caleb Logan and an inspired Player of the Match effort from Captain James Leonard.

With a league-wide bye next week, the Bombers will take the chance to reset before they eye off the potential to build into a finals campaign this season.

The Dons' CWFL side were unlucky not to snare the points against their Saints counterparts, suffering a two-point defeat.

In good touch for most of the game, Essendon struggled to convert their opportunities, which came to hurt them once St Kilda timed their run home.

Jordan Kinniburgh earned Player of the Match honours for a stellar effort in the back half, continuing his terrific start to the year.
