Essendon has accepted a one-match ban offered to key forward Harrison Jones.
Jones was suspended for rough conduct after a tackle on North Melbourne’s Zac Fisher in the second quarter of Sunday’s round 10 clash.
After consulting a legal expert with years of tribunal experience, as well as an experienced biomechanist, the strong and consistent advice was that challenging this particular case would have little to no chance of success.
Jones' tackle on North Melbourne's Zac Fisher was deemed a first offence rough conduct charge, classed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact. https://t.co/NzCNPW1Vgk pic.twitter.com/hjplmpqbpH

Essendon supports the league’s increased protection of the head and understands the detail in the tribunal guidelines around these types of incidents. Whilst disappointed in the outcome, the club accepts the sanction.
Jones will now miss the Bombers’ Dreamtime clash with the Tigers and will next be available for the round 13 fixture against Gold Coast.
