Essendon have ruled Nik Cox (illness) out of Sunday's 1:10pm AEST clash with North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

In his absence, Dylan Shiel will make his first appearance at AFL level since round 17 last year.

The emergencies for tomorrows game are Nick Bryan, Elijah Tsatas and Nate Caddy.
