Essendon’s VWFL sides had a day out against Hawthorn on the weekend, each earning big wins.

The senior side blew away reigning premier Hawthorn by 114 points off the back of a dominant 17-goal effort from Caleb Logan, who’s been in outstanding form this season – he’s now up to 30 goals for the campaign.

Despite conceding the first three goals, the Bombers tidied up in defence through Hayden Farley and Jeremy Tyndall and went on to blitz Hawthorn in the third quarter, scoring 8.2 for the term.

The Bombers’ community side also opened their account with a 97-14 win over Hawthorn, with Kerryn Abblitt taking home player of the match honours thanks to a four-goal performance.

Kaleb Powell scored seven goals in a devastating half of footy, while Co-Captain Ben Milton dictated play from the centre throughout.

Essendon’s next VWFL clash will be their inaugural Dreamtime game against Richmond at the NEC Hangar on Friday, May 24.
