FRESH from his Brownlow Medal triumph, Essendon captain Jobe Watson has revealed plans to get even better with the club set to travel to America for a high altitude camp.

Watson said plans were being put in place for a group of Bombers, including the leadership group and a couple of extra midfielders, to head overseas to trial the benefits of high altitude training.

Collingwood has been a pioneer in the caper, travelling to Arizona for several years. North Melbourne, in recent seasons, has also travelled to Utah, while Carlton, under new coach Mick Malthouse will go to Arizona for the first time this pre-season.

"[We're] not 100 per cent sure, but I think that we might be doing a trial camp over in the States for a small group," Watson said on Tuesday.

"We haven't done any sort of altitude training before so we might be sending a group over there to trial it."??

Watson was still coming to grips with his Brownlow win on Tuesday. He will have a big role in Grand Final week, fulfilling media commitments and other duties, and thinks being involved in the festivities will reinforce his desire to play in a successful side.

"It's hard to know how the guys from the Swans and Hawks are feeling, but you can imagine that they're beside themselves with excitement," Watson said.

"And it's something - that feeling that I had last night - that you want to emulate with your teammates. I think only the opportunity to be involved in a premiership would deliver that"
