Essendon has thrown its support behind the LGBTQIA+ community at the Midsumma Pride March in St Kilda.

Alongside the club’s Purple Bombers pride group and several staff members, the Bombers’ attendees last Sunday included AFL ruck Sam Draper, AFLW players Bonnie Toogood, Brooke Walker and Ellyse Gamble, as well as VFLW signing Ruby Mahony.

The club doubled in group attendance from 2023 in its second year of participation, growing its support for the community in the midst of implementing a new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy for the organisation.

Essendon continues to place an emphasis on making the club as inclusive, accessible and welcoming as possible.
