2023 held another typically industrious season from Maddy Prespakis.
The 23-year-old kicked off the campaign with a tough 31-disposal performance against rivals Hawthorn, setting a tone that would define her season.
Prespakis accumulated at least 20 touches in every game this season and reached the 30-disposal mark on four occasions, reflective of her consistency even when receiving heavy opposition attention.
The midfielder's ability to hit the scoreboard was on display in round three, jagging two goals against the Crows on the road to go along with 22 disposals.
Round six marked Prespakis’ 50-game milestone, a marquee Country Round matchup in Warrnambool against Geelong and sister Georgie.
Prespakis led the charge for an inspired comeback effort by the Bombers, racking up a season-high 33 touches as her side mowed down an early deficit to overrun the Cats in a physical contest.
In a showcase of her importance, Prespakis led the Bombers for disposals in each of the side's first nine games and established a key partnership with midfielder Georgia Nanscawen.
Capping off her season with a two-goal performance in the club’s maiden finals appearance, Prespakis received All Australian squad selection and polled 10 votes at the AFLW Best and Fairest.
After claiming the Bombers’ inaugural best and fairest last season, Prespakis finished runner-up to Co-Captain Bonnie Toogood in 2023 after a stellar season.
