The Essendon Football Club has made changes to its AFLW list today, with Leah Cutting and Joanne Doonan not offered contracts for 2024.
An inaugural Bomber, Doonan played 11 games for the club across her two seasons, including two games this year.
Joining the club ahead of this season, following seven games at St Kilda, Cutting made her club debut in round three against Adelaide.
General Manager of AFLW Aysha Ward thanked Doonan and Cutting for their services to the club.
“This is always a difficult time of year when we have to farewell players. We thank Leah and Jo for the positive impact they’ve both had on the program throughout their time in the red and black,” Ward said.
“Leah and Jo have both provided leadership and guidance to their teammates, always showing care and support while bringing energy to the program.
“We wish Jo and Leah all the best in their future endeavors and thank them for the part they’ve played in shaping our AFLW program.”
