Sophie Van De Heuvel could return to face her former side this weekend after recovering from a concussion.
Van De Heuvel suffered the concussion in round four and has progressed well through her protocols.
The 22-year-old must get through training this week to be available for selection.
Bombers’ midfielder Alana Barba has also received a positive update on her syndesmosis injury, with the 22-year-old avoiding surgery.
Head of Medical Services Megan Smith said the club will approach Barba’s rehab conservatively.
“After her assessment with the surgeon, we have decided that the best approach to Alana’s recovery is to manage it conservatively,” Smith said.
“We will continue to manage her progress closely and if all goes to plan, we will look to start increasing her load over the coming weeks.”
In other positive news, Sophie Alexander is recovering well after being stretchered from the field in Saturday’s game against the Pies.
Alexander spent Saturday night in hospital but was cleared of concussion and a neck injury.
If Alexander continues to progress well and can train fully later in the week, she will be available for selection for the Bombers’ round six clash with Geelong.
