Amber Clarke and Daria Bannister both are a chance to return for the Bombers’ round five clash with Collingwood.
Clarke was withdrawn from Essendon’s round four squad due to knee soreness, with the 18-year-old having to get through training this week to be available for selection.
Following her concussion in round three, Bannister is progressing well through the protocols and is a test for the Bombers’ clash with the Pies.
Sophie Van De Heuvel will miss at least one game after she suffered a concussion in the second quarter of Essendon’s round four game.
Van De Heuvel has now entered concussion protocols and is recovering well.
Bombers’ midfielder Alana Barba will spend some time on the sidelines after suffering an ankle syndesmosis injury during training last week.
Head of Medical Services Megan Smith said the club is still assessing the injury before identifying a timeline for recovery.
“Unfortunately, Alana has suffered an ankle syndesmosis injury, which occurred in an innocuous tackle during training last week,” Smith said.
“We will continue to monitor and assess the injury, with a rehab timeline still to be determined.”
