Forward Jye Menzie has signed a one-year extension to remain a Bomber until at least the end of 2024.
Taken with the 18th selection in the 2022 mid-season draft, Menzie has become a key component of the Bombers’ forward line with his pressure and craft around goal.
Building on the two games from his debut season, Menzie enjoyed a breakout in 2023, featuring in 21 games and booting 23 majors to finish second in the club’s goal kicking.
The 20-year-old is thrilled to stay in red and black and continue the club’s build into 2024 and beyond.
“I couldn't be happier to sign on for 2024, the growth in this group in just one year is so exciting and I think we have only scratched the surface with what we can achieve,” Menzie said.
“The talent we have is capable to take it up to the best and I can't wait to get into the club again with the boys and grind away at another pre-season.
“We made good inroads this year, but I can see we are onto bigger and better things next season, and I'm pumped to be a part of that.”
GM of List and Recruiting Adrian Dodoro is excited to see Menzie’s growth continue into another season.
“Jye has had a strong impact on this club in a short period and to play 21 games in his second year of footy is credit to his work ethic and ability,” Dodoro said.
“We look forward to seeing him continue to develop and get better and stamp himself in our forward line.”
