James Hird and Kevin Sheedy voted Colyer best on ground in the Round 17 AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year Award giving him nine votes for his 16 possessions and career high four goals against the Giants.
It was an impressive display of pace and poise by Colyer as he was recgonised for the first time as best afield in the coaches’ award.
Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Cameron was recognised for his outstanding display up forward receiving seven votes from the coaches.
Jake Melksham continued to show his strong form in his best month of football in the red and black collecting 23 disposals and booting two goals to earn him six votes.
Melksham has proven to be an important part of the Bombers midfield in recent weeks filling the void left by injuries to Jobe Watson, Heath Hocking and David Zaharakis.
Giants big man Jonathan Giles was rewarded for his four goals along with Dylan Shiel who received two.
The only other Bomber to feature among the votes was David Myers who also stepped up in the absence of a number of Bombers key midfielders to collect two votes from the coaches.
