Ahead of Saturday’s Semi-final against Footscray, we highlight some of the key players you might want to keep an eye on as the Bombers chase VFL finals success.

No. 47- Marcus Marigliani

Marigliani looked as though he hadn’t missed a beat when he played his first game in six weeks after overcoming a groin complaint. Playing a commanding role in the backline, the skipper impacted several contests to break opposition scoring chains and finished with 21 disposals for the afternoon. Look for him to stand up in defence yet again this weekend.

No. 48- Kyle Hardingham

Hardingham just keeps producing. After beginning the season in defence, the former AFL-listed Don has made a productive shift to attack booting 32 goals. Having the exceptional talent to play small or tall. Hardingham proves to be a difficult match-up for opposition defences. After another three valuable goals last weekend, Hardingham will again be a focal point in attack this Saturday.

No. 62- Daniel Coghlan

Coghlan has been the VFL Bombers’ most consistent midfielder all season. Another standout 28-disposal and one-goal performance in last weekend’s Elimination final solidified his dominance. Coghlan has the unique ability to both win the ball on the inside as well as be damaging on the outside. Adding to Coghlan’s trick bag is his knack to hit the scoreboard, booting 12 goals this season.

No. 50- James Polkinghorne

This guy does all the simple things well. Winning the contested ball, chasing and tackling hard, Polkinghorne ticks all the boxes as a midfielder most would want in their side. A workman-like 21 disposals, which included five tackles and a goal saw Polkinghorne named among the Bombers best last weekend. Keep an eye out for this guy to get busy again on Saturday.

No. 65- Daniel Willis

Playing throughout the forward line, Willis provides the side with a much-needed x-factor with his brilliant goal sense, speed and strong marking skills. He continues to go from strength-to-strength after cementing a spot in recent weeks. Willis played his best game for the year last weekend, impressing with two goals alongside a flashy 19 touches. Not hard to miss with his bright yellow boots, Willis should provide Bombers fans with some excitement this weekend.
