The Bendigo Bombers will look to rebound from two consecutive losses in the VFL when they take on Casey Scorpions in their first game on home turf for 2008 at
Bendigo have been competitive in the past two weeks despite losing on both occasions and coach Adrian Hickmott believes the weeks to come will begin to show the progress Bendigo is making.
“The players are still getting used to the game plan and playing with each other and learning about their teammates so we expect that to keep improving over the next couple of weeks and hopefully the results will come,” Hickmott said.
While Andrew Welsh has returned to the Essendon side the
Hickmott is excited to be part of the development of some of the club's brightest young stars and whilst he realises they have things to improve there are some great signs for Bomber fans.
“Daniher and Myers looked really good (against Werribee). Darcy has a great pair of hands and a great work rate and that is what we like to see in our young players. Dave has a beautiful left foot, and his ability to read the play from the back half and set up through the midfield will be important for
Skipper James Flaherty is sore after falling on his knee for the second consecutive week and will be given until Friday afternoon training session to prove his fitness but will be rested if not 100% fit.
Essendon Rookie listed player, Danny Chartres has been one of the most consistent Bombers in the first three rounds of the VFL, running hard and contesting when playing in defence and also contributing when thrown forward.
