Essendon midfielder David Zaharakis is expecting to bit fit to play during the NAB Cup despite injuring his quad at training earlier this week.
The 2011 best and fairest is confident of getting some game time later in the club’s pre-season campaign.
“I definitely wont miss the entire competition, it is two week injury, I will be back on the track soon and then the NAB Cup campaign goes for the next two to six weeks,” Zaharakis said
“I should be fine by about the middle of the NAB Cup to play one or two games before the regular season.”
The inury is different to that suffered by Zaharakis in round 11 last season which saw him sit out 14 weeks.
“The scan gave me a bit of confidence as it showed me the tendon last year and that injury is fully healed and that is there is no issue there.”
“I will start running on Friday which is only three days from when I did it.”
“It is probably then within two weeks I am back in training with the boys and having a bit of a run around.”
Father/Son recruit Joe Daniher has now returned to full training with his teammates following some minor knee surgery prior to Christmas.
