Essendon’s wine partner, Mitchelton, is celebrating 40-years of winemaking in Central Victoria’s Nagambie region on the weekend of 5th and 6th September.

The weekend will commence with a black tie dinner which will showcase current and museum wines from Mitchelton’s cellars matched to four courses utilising the best of fresh, local produce.

On Sunday, 6th September (Father’s day), the winery will open its doors for a family picnic day; with picnic hampers available and gorgeous sites to relax with your friends and family overlooking the majestic Goulburn River.

The winery was established in 1969 by Australian wine industry stalwart and founding winemaker, Colin Preece, who chose the site for its exceptional potential for growing premium wine.

Four decades on and with an impressive tally of awards to their credit, including 70 trophies, Mitchelton is a winery with a lot to celebrate.

Winemaker Ben Haines, The Wine Society’s 2008 Young Winemaker of the Year, and the team at the winery look forward to welcoming you to Nagambie on the weekend of the 5th and 6th September.
