Essendon has enlisted a number of its past champions to feature in its Make a Stand membership campaign, which officially begins airing on Fox Footy tonight.

Past greats including dual premiership captain Terry Daniher, his courageous brother Neale Daniher, spearheads Matthew Lloyd and Scott Lucas and inspirational premiership hero Mark Harvey were all involved in the new Make a Stand TV commercial.

Representing the past, present and future, the campaign also includes young stars Zach Merrett and Darcy Parish, as well as a number of Essendon cheer squad members and supporters all standing up for the future of the Club they love.

The new campaign is a call to arms for Essendon supporters to not only Don the Sash and sign up as a member in 2016, but also stand up together with past players at the Bombers first home game of the season in Round 2 at the MCG against Melbourne.

Three-time premiership player Mark Harvey said the initiative was a positive show of support and unity for the Club.

“Essendon is like family to me and has been a big part of my life,” Harvey said.

“We all go through difficult periods in our life and while this has been an incredibly tough time for Essendon supporters, we need to make sure we continue to support the Club through the good times and the bad.

“This is about the future. We need all of our supporters to make a stand for our future and get behind the Club.

“The initiative at the MCG in Round 2 is the start of a new chapter in our history.”

For those who can’t make it to the game, a social media initiative will showcase fans around the world making a stand for the Club.

All supporters are asked to be in their seats by 1:45pm on Saturday 2 April to be part of the pre-match activity and join the past players standing up for the future of the Club.
