Essendon’s membership tally is edging closer to 50,000 and it received a boost on the weekend thanks to the Essendon Women’s Network.

Committee members gathered at Club headquarters and hit the phones.

“It was a really successful day for us as we were able to sign up a lot of new members and also members that had not yet renewed,” Head of the EWN, Jane Grover said.

“It was a great opportunity to have a genuine conversation with likeminded supporters and pleasingly there was a real resolve among our female fan base to stand by the Club.

“We were really happy to see a boost in our membership numbers as a result of the membership drive and would like to thank the women that took the time to speak to us."

The Essendon Women’s Network is a non-match day coterie group tailored to the women of Essendon.

“Our purpose is to support to Club on its strategic objectives particularly relating to its female strategy and engagement to ensure inclusion of all women throughout our football community,” Grover said.

The EWN’s Grand Final Comedy Debate event highlights the amazing women who continually contribute to our game through the Football Women of the Year award.

Additional EWN events throughout the year provide excellent networking opportunities and exclusive inner sanctum opportunities.
