Essendon will be looking to finalise a deal for out of contract key forward Scott Gumbleton to join Fremantle before today’s 2pm trade deadline.
List manager Adrian Dodoro said the Bombers were working to arrange a trade for Gumbleton to join the Dockers.
“They have registered their interest in him and it is just a matter of getting a deal done I would imagine,” Dodoro said.
“We do want to get some sort of compensation for Scotty as he has had some unfortunate few years at the club but he is up and running now.”
“The last eighteen months he has been injury free and played some really good footy but we have just had an abundance of talls.”
“We certainly want to get some compensation for him and we need to work through that with Fremantle.”
The Bombers have already bolstered their list during the trade period having picked up GWS youngsters Shaun Edwards and Kurt Aylett in exchange for pick 48.
The Bombers yesterday improved their position in this year’s draft gaining selection 26 from the Western Bulldogs in exchange for Stewart Crameri.
