Essendon has been forced to make one change to its round eight side.

Sam Durham will be unavailable against Port Adelaide with the young midfielder receiving a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle.

Dyson Heppell, Alwyn Davey Jnr and Jye Menzie also loom as potential ins, with both being named on the extended bench.

Bomber fans will be excited to also see Zach Reid named to the extended bench. If named it will be his first game since round 23 last year.

Ben Hobbs has held his spot in the side, lining up at half forward for his third game of the year.
