It’s been a busy week for the Bombers, but attention returns to the playing arena tomorrow.

These are the burning questions ahead of the match against Gold Coast.

-       Can the Bombers rebound?

If any team can respond after a week of adversity, it’s the Bombers.  Media headlines and cameras at every corner have become a common occurrence for the players in recent seasons.

James Hird’s powerful final message to his charges called on them to stand up and fight when challenging situations arise.

More often than not in recent seasons, the Bombers have done just that.

There were famous wins on Anzac Day, in Perth, in Adelaide and against the archenemy, Carlton.

A victory against the Suns would be another memorable moment.

-       What will Matthew Egan bring as interim coach?

Matthew Lloyd praised Egan for his communication skills during the week.  Egan has taken care of the backline in recent seasons and has developed a strong rapport with the likes of Michael Hurley and Cale Hooker who have excelled under his tutelage.

Lloyd expects Egan to remain calm, but also deliver a stern message when required.

Egan was an All-Australian defender before injury brought an early end to his career.  For the last seven seasons he has honed his craft in the coaches box and will be well prepared to lead the team through the final three weeks of the season.

-       How significant is Michael Hurley’s return?

Very.

Hurley was in All-Australian form before a knee injury sidelined him for three weeks.

In his absence, the side has conceded 60 goals in three games and although Hurley won’t fix every problem, he will certainly help.

The former Northern Knight’s return will also give first game coach, Egan, the luxury of three genuine swingmen.  Jake Carlisle, Cale Hooker and Hurley are all capable of playing at both ends and could create some headaches for the Suns.
