VFL senior coach Leigh Tudor breaks down Essendon's AFL-listed players' performances against Collingwood.
Lewis Hayes
17 disposals, three marks
'Haysy' is getting better each week and starting to understand how we want to defend and attack. He's played quite a few games in a row now so he's going along nicely, so it was a good game from him.
Nick Bryan
45 hitouts, 18 disposals, 10 clearances
He was probably our best player. He rucked really well, dominated the stoppages to have 10 clearances and his follow up work was superb. He probably left a few marks out there that he might've usually taken, but generally a good game from him.
Kaine Baldwin
Six disposals, three marks, three tackles
After a couple of weeks off with that concussion, he started off pretty slow. It was an unlike Kaine Baldwin game, but he needed to get out there and he'll be a lot better for getting through that game.
Alastair Lord
15 disposals, three marks
'Lordy' had some good moments with ball in hand and generally defended ok. He got caught out a couple of times but it wasn't a bad performance from him.
Zach Reid
10 disposals, three marks
It was great to see him back out there and getting used to the pace of the game again. He ended up playing three quarters and got through that really well. He put himself into some contests and didn't quite finish off his good work, but that'll come for him.
Rhett Montgomerie
14 disposals, six marks, three tackles
Rhett played pretty much half back all game and joined our attack well. He used the ball well and defended well we needed him to.
Pat Voss
15 disposals, seven marks
Vossy worked really hard. He got into a lot of contest and left a couple of marks out there that he might've taken. Defensively he was sound and he had a couple of shots at goal, but didn't get the full reward for his effort.
Tex Wanganeen
Two goals, 10 disposals, three tackles
Tex's game came up well on review. His defensive pressure was really good and he had a purple patch where he kicked a couple of goals and he was involved a bit in our attack, so a better game from Tex.

Anthony Munkara
One goal, seven disposals, four tackles
He had some really good chasing pressure and tackling. It's something we've been working the last few weeks including his defensive patterns and how we go about it, so it was really good to see him chase really hard and defend, which he got rewarded for that. Some of his patterns with his forward craft are coming through as he understands how we want to play.
