Essendon's 19-game undefeated streak has come to an end after a determined Southern Saints side ran out 25-point winners at Trevor Barker Oval.
The round two scoreline of 6.6 (42) to 2.5 (17) saw the VFLW Bombers' unbeaten run since round one, 2022 finish at the hands of last year's Grand Finalists.
Despite securing a five-point quarter-time lead, the Bombers were slowly but surely outclassed by a hungry Saints side, who held the Dons to zero goals after the first break while kicking five of their own.

Midfielder Alana Barba held her own all day, collecting a team-high 24 disposals and eight tackles, while ruck Meg Ryan worked hard to earn her game-high 22 hitouts.
Caitlin Sargent was a presence up forward, booting both of the Dons' two goals.
Essendon will look to record their first win of the season when they face Carlton next Saturday at the NEC Hangar.
