Bombers encourage ditching the drink
The Bombers are baulking the booze this February by taking part in febfast, an initiative that challenges people to give up alcohol for the shortest month of the year. Coach James Hird will lead nine Essendon players in the program which is aimed at raising funds to help young Australians take control of their lives by overcoming alcohol and drug problems.

Team Hird is made up of Jason Winderlich, Angus Monfries, Heath Hocking, Leroy Jetta, Brendan Lee, Ben Howlett, Michael Hibberd, Hal Hunter and Cory Dell’OIio.
Now the silly season has passed, press the pause button and start the year with a clear head by taking part in febfast.
It is easy to get involved in as you step away from the bottle for February and get friends, family and workmates to sponsor you at http://www.febfast.org.au/.
If you have a special occasion during the month there is the option to plan ahead and buy a ‘Time Out’ certificate for $25.
Bombers fans have the chance to be part of the action when the team travels to the Goldfields region for the 2012 Australia Post Community Camp on Monday. Essendon players will take part in two NAB AFL super clinics during the two day camp followed by 30-minute signing sessions.
