Essendon members and fans have shown their support for the club and rallied behind the players since the announcement of the ASADA and AFL investigation.
The club’s membership total has surpassed 42,000 members – 3,000 ahead of the same time last year.
The club sold more memberships last week than in the corresponding week at the same time last year, with new members and existing members signing up for the 2013 season.
The club wishes to extend its appreciation to all members and supporters who have reached out during this difficult time, we have been inundated with messages of support via social media channels, emails and phone calls.
Ruckman Paddy Ryder said the players were extremely grateful for the outpouring of support.
“It is definitely good to see the support from all the fans and hopefully we can get a big crowd tomorrow night for our opening NAB Cup game,” Ryder said.
