How is your pre-season training progressing? Are you keeping up with the Bomber boys? The week three training program of Pre season with the Bombers is currently on the BomberLand site. This week Fitness coach John Quinn, increases the amount (volume) of exercise that participants are doing rather than increasing the intensity. Remember it is never too late to start!

We have all just returned from the best part of a week at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. It was a big week with different sessions with a variety of coaches and a fair bit of analysis and testing. It is always good to get away and train in a different environment – and what better than Australia’s premier sports institute.

What has struck me this pre season has been the improvement in some of our younger players. Of course the “plan” was always for them to push up this year, but at the end of the day the individual player is the one who has to make the choice. I am convinced that fitness is as much about the mental side as the physical. Which raises a question for you – do you really want to do it or do you just really like to talk about wanting to do it?
